Shaw Towers Realty Pte Ltd (“Shaw Towers”) is part of the Hong Kong-based “The Sir Run Run Shaw Charitable Trust” (“the Trust”) established in 1995. Decades before, in 1958, Mr. Shaw had already begun to build what would become Asia’s pre-eminent film and media empire the “Shaw Group”.
Shaw Towers’ core business is real estate investment and management of Shaw Tower (“the Property”). Renowned for its exceptional brutalist design, Shaw Tower was an expression of Modernist Architecture in Singapore. The Property was once the tallest building, housing the largest cinema in Singapore and had been an iconic landmark for the Beach Road community.
Today, continuing with the philanthropic legacy of the late Mr. and Mrs. Shaw, the Trust supports the works of global educational, cultural and medical institutes with focus on Mainland China and Hong Kong including the founding and patronship of Shaw Prize. It also operates Shaw Studios in Hong Kong, one of Asia’s largest and most advanced film and media facilities. The Trust is dedicated to charity works, and it holds international property assets including the Property for funding its charity.
